The St James takes the outline of a London club sofa and builds it at booth length. A deep-green velvet back rises to 1,350 mm, deep-buttoned in diamonds about 200 mm across and edged in antique brass nailheads. At each end, the back rolls outward and down into a scroll arm that meets the seat, with a slim brass trim following the curve.
The seat is deeper and slightly lower than a standard dining booth, at 620 mm deep and 440 mm high, because this is seating for long evenings over drinks rather than a quick lunch.
Construction. Hardwood frame designed to take deep-buttoning tension, high-resilience seat foam, brass nailheads hand set, recessed plinth.
Where it works. Members' clubs, hotel bars, cocktail rooms and private dining. In a pub, one St James in the snug can set the tone for a whole room.
Options. Length, velvet or leather colour, nailhead finish, arm style, back height.
