The Green Back Tapestry Chair mixes two coverings on one chair. The back is a plain padded panel in deep green faux leather, framed by the chair's dark timber posts and top rail; the seat is upholstered in a woven tapestry with a green and cream geometric pattern that picks up the same green.
The frame is slim and square-legged, finished in a dark brown stain, with side and rear stretchers set low for strength.
Why mix them. The back is the part that gets leaned on and brushed by coats, so it gets the wipe-clean surface. The seat gets the pattern, which hides marks between cleans and adds the character of a traditional pub without needing a carpet to match.
Construction. Solid hardwood frame with mortise-and-tenon joints, upholstered back panel fixed between the posts, seat on a plywood board screwed from below for easy re-covering.
Where it works. Pub lounges and dining rooms, hotel bars and restaurants with a heritage scheme of dark panelling and green walls.
Options. Stain, back colour, and seat fabric from your own tapestry (COM) or our contract range, specified to BS 7176 on request.
