The window line is the seat every guest wants, and the hardest to furnish: the sill is too low for a booth back and a row of chairs blocks the view. The Bay Window Bench is built for it.
It is a backless bench, 2,400 mm long and 600 mm deep, with five loose bolster cushions, each 200 mm in diameter and 500 mm long, laid against the wall or sill as backrests. The front face is upholstered in three horizontal flutes with slim brass inlays, and each bolster end carries a small brass button.
Why bolsters. Loose bolsters can be moved to suit the party, removed for cleaning or replaced individually. During the day the bench works as café seating; in the evening it serves dining tables.
Construction. Rigid seat box with fluted upholstered front, firm seat foam, wall fixing to the window wall.
Options. Length (including bay and splayed shapes), depth, number of bolsters, fabric and trim finish. A low back can be added where the sill height allows.
