The Cotswold is a light, open bench in natural timber, with square arms, a top rail and a stretchered base, carrying a seat cushion and a slim back pad. Shown in a strong red faux leather that recalls a country inn; it works just as well in green, tan or a wool check.
Because the frame is open beneath the seat, the floor stays visible and cleaning is quick. The arms give guests something to push up from, which matters for older customers, and they protect the upholstery at each end.
Construction. Solid timber frame with jointed rails and stretchers, upholstered seat and back pads fixed to the frame, finish chosen to take spills and daily wiping.
Where it works. Along a wall opposite loose chairs, in a bay window, on a covered terrace, or in a hotel corridor or entrance.
Options. Length, timber species and stain, pad fabric (COM welcome), with or without arms, back pad height.
